On October 23, General Manager Bill Stretch represented FID during a Big Dry Creek Reservoir project tour led by Brent Sunamoto, Assistant General Manager & District Engineer for @Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District. Also on the tour was Joshua Babcock from Rep. @John Duarte’s office and @Blake Zante from Rep. @Kevin McCarthy’s office. During the tour, the group discussed the reservoir’s operation, regional benefits, and future funding needs.
The Fresno County Stream Group is making progress on reoperation of the Big Dry Creek Reservoir. A successful Reservoir reoperation and associated improvements will:
💧Increase surface water storage capacity by 15,000 acre-feet
💧 Reduce flood risk
💧Enhance groundwater recharge
